My A-Z theme for the month of April is romance and the modern, technology-driven cubicle dweller (like me).
To me, intimacy is as much a state of mind as it is a physical proximity. The word summons thoughts of sexiness and a hands-on experience, but I think it goes deeper than that.
Even though it’s a lot of fun, you don’t have to have clothes flying off and hands running amok for a moment to be intimate. It can be something as simple as sitting in a dark movie theater, and even though you’re surrounded by dozens of other people, the brush of your significant other’s arm against yours on the rest, or fingers intertwined, can get pulses racing until it seems like you’re the only people in the room.
Or maybe a spontaneous brush of lips over the cheek, or a long, deep kiss out of the blue that sends a flush over you.
Or even just the right, teasing words at the right moment. If you’ve been stopping by this month, you might have noticed I’m big on the words. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a writer, or because so much of what I do every day is on the computer, but words are a powerful, and all too often overlooked tool. And sometimes, a sincere compliment or admission of adoration can be as intimate as anything.
It’s all in the delivery.
What’s your favorite PG-rated way to share an intimate moment? (Not because I have any complaints with the steamier moments – yum – but I have to make you at least think about it, right?)
Taking my dearest his coffee. Or him taking me mine. For some reason that little act of service is so endearing…
Conversation, yes! Communication.
Just stopping by for A-Z April…”I”nteresting post.
I don’t have any favorites yet. It will probably be stuff like “here honey, have this coffee and write for nanowrimo”… lol.
