During the entire month of April, I’m participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge. The alphabet will be my motivation, though the content of the posts will be very similar to what regular readers are used to. Check out the link for more amazing bloggers, and enjoy April!
I saw both in my comments and on others’ blogs that a lot of people had their ‘M’ posts eaten. As Libby put it, apparently blogger needed a strong dose of Vitamin M on Saturday (BTW, if you haven’t visted Libby’s blog yet, go check it out. Her novel, Tough Girl sounds fascinating, and every day she’s drawing us in more with the snippets she’s posting).
My commiserations to those of you who suffered the same fate. My posts with Scrivener and Word tips will be back later in the month, regardless of the Blogger munchies, so if you were looking for those, keep an eye out (probably on the appropriate letters 😉
I’m having a hard time focusing today, because I’m waiting on some news. It’s not the kind where I’m 99% certain it will be positive. I honestly have no idea. Obviously I’m hoping for good news, but trying to remind myself that bad news is more likely.
Fortunately it’s not life and death type news. It’s the kind of news that really only matters to me and a very small circle of people who know me. But to me, it’s important news. If something comes of it, it will be the kind of news I’ll share with the world, and if nothing comes of it, it will be the kind of news that passes quietly in the night.
So to keep myself busy, I’m writing and revising. I have two chapters I need to rewrite in a novel I’m revising, and then I’m diving back into my current WIP. I finally hit the point in the first draft where the pieces I’d randomly tossed myself are starting to all come together, and now I know why I made them that way.
And above all, I’m pretending I’m not waiting impatiently.
How do you distract yourself when you’re waiting for news?
Movies. Hilarious and/or exciting ones. And ice cream. I ‘m horrible.

Waiting is the worst. I’m STILL trying to think of distractions. Usually, I try to work on a new writing project.
As soon as the moment you have been waiting for arrives, it’s over. Practice your Zen and whatever comes will be whatever comes. 🙂
