Earlier this year, I wrote a longer novella (45k or so). I adore the story and I’d love to see it find a home and give other people the chance to enjoy it as well.

But it’s having a hard time finding a home. Because of length and genre, there aren’t a lot of publisher venues for it. But I still believe in this story. I think it’s a good one.

So I’ve decided I’m going to self-publish. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now anyway, to see how to works, to experience it for myself, to learn how it all works. All that great stuff.

I guess I don’t have a lot more to say besides that. I will as I move forward with the project. I’ll have to go through another round or two of edits, and get a cover worked up, and dig into all the details about digital formatting (which I’ve actually done before and am not too worried about), and look into promotion, distribution, all that fantastic stuff.

For those of you who have done this before, or are in the process, any suggestions on where I should further my self-publishing education?
