Today I get to introduce you to TF Walsh. If you missed my review of Cloaked in Fur yesterday, make sure to check it out. She’s an amazing and fantastic author, and I’m glad she loaned me her time. So take a look at her answers to my five questions.
Allyson, thank you for having me today on your blog.
1 – Describe your ideal writing environment
This might sound strange, but it’s a café. There’s something about being around people who are going about their own business and chatting that inspires me to write. With a warm cup of tea and my headphones, not to mention the important fact that I won’t move from my seat in fear I’ll lose my table, I’m ready to write. And, the other people around don’t distract me one bit. Might have to do with the fact that I write to music.
2 – Spring or fall?
Fall, or rather Autumn as we call it here in Australia.
3 – What’s the biggest thing you’ve ever won?
I’ve never won anything major like a holiday or car (though my sister has), but I do win lots of small things all the time, like movies, a denim jacket, books, dinner plates.
4 – What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Ha … Sorry, too many thoughts popped into my mind at once. But which one to pick that doesn’t make me sound too crazy. Okay, when I was in high school I was completely obsessed with horror movies and anything to do with monsters. (I still am) It just so happened that Bram Stoker’s Dracula came out at the movies, which I watched several times. After begging the cinema manager to give me one of their huge cardboard backdrops, there was the job of getting it home. Three friends and a small hatch-back car later, we decided we’d place the cardboard on the rooftop of the car and with each of us positioned near a window, we would hold it in place. We took off and just as quick the board ripped out of our grasp, landing on the empty road behind us. Lucky for us, it was non-peak time, plus we were in a small town.
Anyway, we tried again, but this time we traveled extremely slow, laughing the whole way home. We made it, surprisingly not pulled over by the cops. I then nailed the huge board to the wall behind my bed. It was only later that night that my parents
discovered the monstrosity in my bedroom, and let’s just say, they weren’t happy. After much convincing I got to keep it
5 – What question do you always wish someone would ask (you or someone else) in an interview, but no one ever does?
That’s a hard one. Now you’ve got me thinking. How about: What was it like growing up in Romania?
Still laughing at the Dracula story ^_^ And I’m going to have to have you back to do a blog post specifically on what it was like growing up in Romania – that sounds like very interesting.
So, dear readers, don’t be shy. If you have any questions of your own for our guest, ask away!
Cloaked in Fur
As a moonwulf, Daciana never expected to fall in love with a human. Hell, she never imagined that she’d abandon her pack, endanger everyone around her, and break the worst rule possible. But she did.
A rogue werewolf is killing Daciana’s friends, and she sets on capturing the creature. She’ll do whatever it takes to stop the beast. The police and her boyfriend, Inspector Connell Lonescu, are starting to question her involvement in the murders, which is endangering the pack’s secret existence. But when the pack alpha kidnaps Connell, revealing the awful truth about the creature and its connection to the pack, Daciana must choose between saving the man she loves and saving her pack family from certain death.

I’d love to come back to your blog… anytime:) It’s so warm and cozy here…
cafes are excellent choices!
Great interview!
I love to write in pubs in London. And you can’t leave your table there either 🙂
I totally agree about writing in a cafe. I have favorite writing cafes scattered around Auckland 🙂
How did your parents not notice you smuggling Dracula into your room?
Ha! That was a fun story. Great interview!
Shelley – luckily my parents were still at work:)
Thanks for visiting Shelley, Adriana and T.B.
I’ve only written in a cafe a few times. I should go more often. I don’t mind the noise and I enjoy the food and drinks.
I love autumn.
Great story! Though I could never sleep with Dracula watching me…
Tina @ Life is Good
P.S I’m an immigrant too. Sweden to the US when I was 9. Wrote about it all of April if you’re interested. Would love to hear your story.
I can just see you guys hanging on to that large piece of cardboard and going really slow! Someone should’ve gotten a photo. Do you still have it?
Medeia – writing in cafes always help me get past any any witing blocks I have.
Tina – I admit, it was a bit creepy, but it didn’t stop me:)
Alex – I had to get rid of it after a few years… the huge cardboard cutout was getting tattered:) I so wish I took a photo:(
